The M-Track is a very good interface, the mic is decent and as an all-in-one package it really is good value for money. The M-Audio Vocal Studio Pro is a darn fine package and ideal for the home producer looking to lay down some vocals without breaking the bank.
They’re actually quite bassy so this’ll probably make most vocalists sound a little better to themselves in the headphones which is always a good thing. I wouldn’t do too much production work with them, but as monitors for your vocalist to lay down a recording, they’re more than suitable. Clear and reasonably transparent – which is best for this type of application – the mic delivers well enough for a decent recording which one can then manipulate in the software. So for recording purposes this package certainly caters for more than just vocals with any line-in instrument being suitable. This aside from the XLR mic inputs with selectable phantom power. The M-Track is an excellent 24 bit/ 48kHz audio interface and is designed for any line input recording (2 balanced 1/4″ jacks) and even sports guitar-level switching as well as 2 TRS 1/4″ inserts one per input channel.
